MEET NIKO

I started in the fitness industry 15 years ago as a Reformer Pilates instructor. Teaching reformer classes allowed me to understand the power of movement and how the body is connected. Then I discovered TRX and everything changed. This strange contraption of straps became my obsession.

TRX is an incredible piece of equipment. It can dramatically increase the challenge of bodyweight exercises, helping build and strengthen muscle. I applied my Pilates expertise and spent two years perfecting my craft in Hyde Park – rain or shine. Before long, I was more than just an instructor. I was ‘the TRX guy’. My schedule was jam-packed with clients who wanted to train with the guy transforming TRX training into something extraordinary.

Five years later, I co-founded Equilibrium with my brother Jay Brockway. Equilibrium was a hugely successful West London boutique fitness studio that started a movement- people came to us to achieve goals using exercises they once considered impossible.

In 2020, TRX signed us as the lead trainers and co-founders of the TRX Training Club. We spent two years designing and teaching a programme with an ethos built on laser-focused technique to trainers and clients worldwide. We created TRX classes and training programmes that were scalable and could adapt to anyone at any level. We trained many types of clients, with ages ranging from 30-70 years old, from professional athletes to working mums. We trained superstars Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, Nicole Sherzinger, and even members of the British Royal Family.

In 2023, I created my fitness app, Embrace Impossible. It is an app that empowers people of any age, anywhere to do moves they thought were impossible. The app allows me to jump through your screen and stand next to you as you improve your technique and strength. The programmes challenge the limits you think you have, whilst remaining injury and pain free.

Impossible can mean different things to different people. For me, it was being able to perform a normal bodyweight squat after years of football fatigue and zero mobility training. For you, it may be a simple plank or perhaps higher targets like handstands or pull-ups.

My fitness philosophy is about embracing the impossible. Focus on the basics – strength, endurance and mobility – and everything else will follow.

What is your YOUR impossible?

Niko.
